Chairman Jon Cleereman was not present for the July board meeting. Supervisor Chris Piton called the meeting to order at 6:10pm.
Chris asked the minutes to be read from June’s meeting. Minutes were approved by Chris and seconded by Daniel.
First item on the agenda is the renewal of Newald Junction’s liquor license. Chris made a motion to approve the license and it was 2 nd by Daniel.
2nd item is road maintenance. Chris talked to Mike Albrecht for hauling and laying gravel on the Double Bend Rd. Mike would work with Steadgee and quoted the town $14000. Before beginning work Mike would need half down payment. Mike would need to use his excavator to first clean out the road going to the gravel pit and then remove trees and other brush that has grown in the pit over the years before hauling. Steadgee would help with fixing the Double Bend Road. Also Chris will be contacting the 100 miler to cut the shoulders of all town roads. Signs for the lake roads are being purchased but they are delayed per Lange Enterprises.
Mail Correspondence was a denial letter from the Forest Cty Potawatomi Tribal Grant program and timber cutting permit notification.
Future agenda items; Addressing the property issues at Heidi Uren residence, any ordinances for town/cty on having farm animals in town, future of the corner lot project, update on veteran’s memorial.
